The booking calendar your customers embed on their website and their website chatbot can be served from your panel's domain (for example app.yourbrand.com), without another address appearing as the main one in the website's code. And if your domain stops responding (DNS down, expired certificate, domain not renewed…), they switch on their own to a backup server so your customer's website keeps working.
Embedded calendar
- From your domain: the calendar is served from the domain its code is loaded from. If your customer copies the code in your panel (Calendars → their calendar → Embed tab), everything goes through your panel's domain.
- Automatic fallback: if the calendar does not respond (6 seconds after loading, or 15 seconds after it appears on screen), it loads on its own from the backup server (
muserelay.com). - If the code does not even arrive from your domain, the embed code itself loads it from the backup server.
- Your brand stays: when served from the backup, the "Powered by" footer still shows your brand.
Website chatbot
- From your domain: your customers' chatbot uses your panel's domain for everything (script, messages, images and real-time connection) when the "serve the chatbot from the panel domain" option is turned on for your panel. Ask the platform's support for it; without it, the chatbot works the same from the platform.
- Automatic fallback: the chatbot's embed code loads the script from the backup server if it does not arrive from your domain. In that case the chatbot talks to the backup server, not to the domain that is down.
Keep in mind
- Codes already pasted: to get the script fallback, your customers must copy the embed code again (calendar or chatbot) and replace the one on their website. An already embedded calendar gets the automatic fallback anyway, because its script updates itself.
- If your domain goes down in the middle of a conversation with the chatbot already open, the chatbot does not switch until the visitor reloads the page.
- Websites with a strict security policy (CSP): if your customer's website restricts external domains, it must allow your panel's domain and also
muserelay.com; otherwise the fallback cannot load. - For your domain to work, keep your panel's DNS record and its certificate active (the platform renews it automatically as long as the DNS points correctly).
